We’re looking for a Client Strategy (CS) Consultant, Marketing & Revenue at Tegrita, which is a 100% remote organization. We come together throughout the year, but there is no office to ‘return to’.

What is a Client Strategy (CS) Consultant?
At Tegrita, we do a lot of things differently and sales is one of them. Our CS team is as close as we get to a Sales team. This role is a hunting role. To be a CS you need to be able to find the right contacts at the right companies for Tegrita to Partner with. We don’t believe in cold-calling and traditional email barrages for getting new business. Instead, we start relationships how we’ll continue them, with ideas to improve clients’ businesses and follow-through from our team of experts to bring those ideas to life.
Another way we’re different is that you are not selling consulting services YOU ARE A CONSULTANT. You care about what you’re selling and the businesses you’re partnering with.

What does a CS do?
The first 1-2 months will be intensive training on Tegrita, our ways of working and the services we offer. In months 3-6, we expect to see opportunities being created, deals scoped and the first engagements entering contracting. The remainder of the year the CS will be closing deals and will continue to own the commercial success of new partners to support expansion and renewals. Day-to-day you’ll:

  • Identify contacts and companies that are a good fit for Tegrita services
  • Send ideas to those contacts using our pipeline building process
  • Identify, scope, close and manage opportunities while ensuring clients’ business outcomes are met
  • Work closely with team members, clients and decision makers to design and lead successful and profitable projects and accounts
  • Drive work velocity, ensuring billable time is done according to monthly forecasts
  • Stay active in industry trends and client needs to develop and deliver new strategic services
  • Identify opportunities for client expansion and ensure service levels are maintained to secure repeat client engagements

What does a CS earn?
Our compensation approach is different from the OTE model currently dominating revenue and growth teams. We offer a livable base wage as well as a flat 5%+ commission with no cap on earnings. The expectation for this role is to bring in US$1mil in net new business in the first year - earning a minimum of $50,000 in commission alone. If the actual sales are double so is the commission.
We are organized on a 5 level matrix, this CS position is open to Level 2 or Level 3. Throughout our hiring process we will assess level of experience and demonstrated track record to determine level.

Minimum starting salary for Level 2 is $70,000 and Level 3 is $95,000 annually. 

What are we looking for in a CS?
We don’t hire arbitrarily based on degrees or number of years of experience. We believe in hiring for talent and we know that experiences are transferable. For CS, we are looking for:

  • someone living and authorized to work in the United States and/or Canada
  • experience in consulting on client teams in strategy, business development, and/or marketing/revenue/sales.
  • past responsibility and success for closing business. i.e. getting contracts signed by clients.

How do we hire?
We know it’s tough for candidates and workers right now and do our best to balance what we need to identify people who will be successful at Tegrita and what we are asking for candidates. It’s not about jumping through hoops e.g. whether or not you submit a cover letter doesn’t impact your ability to do this job, so it won’t impact your success in getting hired.

We have a transparent and consistent hiring process based on a philosophy of hiring for the talents that will make it possible for our new team member to get to do what they do best, everyday.

We identify these talents through our 5 step hiring process, we notify candidates if we are declining at every stage; we won’t ask you to continue to put in effort when we’ve decided.

  1. Screener - 2-3 min survey that helps us identify any one who could not possibly be successful in this role, whose talents are too far from who would thrive as a CS. It is not a reflection of you, it is a tool to save you time working towards a job you’d probably hate.

  3. Scenario - 1-2 hours in total across a written and video submission exercise, followed by a live Zoom discussion with the CRO about your submission. The scenario is designed to show us how you’d approach the kinds of things you’d be doing every day in this role and to give you a real taste of what part of your days would entail as a CS.
  4. We never use the work submitted for commercial purposes and we do our best to design the scenario to be unusable to us outside of hiring.
  5. Structured Interview - 30-40 minute phone interview with a 3rd party partner who's an expert in interviewing to uncover talents at work. There is nothing to prepare, this interview helps us understand how you think. The structured interview focuses on identifying the core traits and ways of thinking that make for a successful Tegritan in general and for your specific role.
  6. Executive Team Interview - 30-45 minute video call. On this video interview you will meet our Excecutive team who will ask you some questions and give you a chance to ask any questions you have.
  7. Peer Interview - On this final 30-45 minute video call you'll connect with another 3 people from the team who you'd be working with regularly. You’ll have the opportunity to assess if these are people you’d want to work with and hear about Tegrita from someone who isn’t in leadership.
